When we pull out of this recession-more like a depression-be prepared for hyper inflation, double- or triple-digit inflation. Your money will be virtually worthless. We may join countries such as Brazil where inflation is so out-of-control that people are spending it as fast as they make it, because tomorrow it will be worth less. There's no incentive to save.
Fundamentally, what these conservative groups are saying to legislators is: "You need to figure out how to spend within your means."
We're taxed when we earn our money, taxed when we spend it, and if we're lucky enough to save a few "shekels", we're taxed again-then Uncle Sam makes us fill out income tax forms to make sure he hasn't overlooked anything. How many times are we taxed on the same "buck"? To quote Montpelier tea party organizer Jessica Bernier, "The government taxes everything from diapers to death. And yet they want more." The creators of the constitution drafted this document to restrain government and protect us from tyranny and abuse.
Liberty is under siege in America. We have a socialist as president and a completely liberal-controlled U.S. Congress. There are no checks and balances at this time, at least not for the next two years. Hopefully, America will make some changes in the next congressional election.
As a congressman, Obama supported every gun-control bill voted on in the Illinois State Legislature. He is on record for vowing to require national gun registration, and in the same breath, wants to restore rights of convicted felons; rights which include voting, holding civil service jobs, and probably owning guns.
Under this administration there is a military training film out, supposedly used to train American soldiers in Iraq. It shows a soldier giving an ultimatum to an American homeowner-surrender his gun or get arrested. How does this film train soldiers in Iraq? Thomas Paine wrote: ...Arms...discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law abiding) deprived the use of them.
