TICONDEROGA - Lack of depth will be a concern for the Ticonderoga girls track team this spring.
The Sentinels have just 15 girls on the roster.
"We hope to play the role of spoiler this season," Coach Walt Thorne said. "For us, everyone is the team to beat. We had a few years with some very good athletes who have gone on to compete at states; now we find ourselves in a rebuilding mode again."
Ticonderoga will line up Lexi Reale, Ainsley MacAlpine, Megan Moser, Brook Nadeau, Courtney Shaner and Tabitha Taylor in the sprints.
Moser, Shaner and Taylor will also compete in the jumps.
Harley Trudeau, Jordan Quesnel, Kristion Gibbs, Delaney Bush and Kalene Gauger will throw along with Nadeau.
Riana Millington, Sara Bennett, Jordana Green and Michaela Jebb will run in the distance and middle distance races.
"Our strength will lie in our four seniors, Lexi Reale, Ainsley MacAlpine, Riana Millington and Sara Bennett," Thorne said, "who will have to lead the way for the other athletes to follow."
Assisting Thorne with the coaching duties this spring are Phil Kneller in the throws, Jay Wells in the distance event, Ellie Berube in the sprints and distance and Rick Merrill in the jumps.
