Chip plant executive featured at EDC luncheon

QUEENSBURY - An executive of Global Foundries, the company slated to open a computer-chip fabrication plant in Malta, is the keynote speaker for the annual luncheon of the Warren County Economic Development Corp.

The event is set for Friday, May 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Great Escape Lodge in Queensbury.

At the event, the agency will review economic development achievements of the past decade and share knowledge regarding new trends, particularly those linked to Global Foundries' arrival in the "Tech Valley" region.

It is anticipated that the Global Foundries executive will be sharing information about his company's plans and their potential impact on Warren County.

The event is open to the public, with advance paid reservations - $45 for agency members, and $65 for non-members. Corporate sponsor packages are available from $500 to $2,500. For reservations, contact Elaine Behlmer at 761-6007 ext. 300 or by email: ebehlmer@edcwc.org. Early reservations are urged, as last year's event sold out quickly.
