Calling all thespians

BLUE MOUNTAIN LAKE - The Casting Call is the Arts Center's new way of delivering information on up-coming performance and creative opportunities to all of our aspiring and established artists out there in the woods.

The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts has announced two up-coming opportunities for creative and imaginative members of our community.

Forever Wild, a compilation of skits and musical numbers written and performed by Adirondack community members returns to The Arts Center June 5 - 6. It is a satirical look at life in the Adirondacks and current events through the eyes of Adirondackers. The production is directed by Karen Butters and Mary Leach.

The Casting Call will be held at The Arts Center in Blue Mountain Lake on Sunday, April 5 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating as cast members, writers, or tech crew are invited to attend.

This summer the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts will produce a 45-minute outdoor production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream to be performed at the parks and beaches of 11 Adirondack towns. Rehearsals will run from July 19 - July 25 with performances from July 26 - Aug. 1.

The Casting Call will be held at The Arts Center in Blue Mountain Lake on Sunday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in participating as cast members or tech crew are invited to attend.

Those who are unable to attend any of the Casting Calls, but are interested in participating should call The Arts Center at 352-7715.
