Kearstin Petro, daughter of William and Christy Petro of Port Henry, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at SUNY Potsdam.

Petro is an elementary major and is a 2008 graduate of Moriah Central School.

Amanda Forbes of North Hudson has been named to the dean's list at Paul Smith's College for the fall 2008 semester.

Forbes is enrolled in the college's division of hospitality, resort and culinary management and earned a semester average of 3.3 or higher to receive this distinction.

Mark Barber, a Ticonderoga High School graduate, was recently awarded the Industrial Fabrics Foundation 2009 Marine Fabricators Association Membership Scholarship. This scholarship award provides tuition expenses at an accredited college, university or technical school.

Barber is a junior at SUNY-Albany pursuing a degree in psychology. He is currently employed at the Carillon Restaurant and volunteers as an EMT with Ticonderoga Emergency Squad.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, community service, financial need and interest in a future career in the specialty fabrics industry.
