Musical Dessert' a hit

TICONDEROGA - "Musical Dessert" produced a sweet evening for Ticonderoga Middle School music students and families.

The event featured performances by students and teachers along with desserts lined up in the school cafetorium.

All proceeds will go to the music program for its trip to New York City May 13 to see The Little Mermaid on Broadway.

"We really appreciate your support and hope you enjoy the evening," said Pat Cornell, music teacher. "it helps us pay our bills."

There was no admission fee for the show, but students and parents sold desserts.

Cakes, cookies, pies, brownies - even ice cream sundaes - were available as musicians performed.

Music was provided by the band, the jazz band and the chorus students.

Besides the large musical groups, soloists and ensembles performed, including Stephen Bartlett, Rebecca Barber, Alaina Bevilacqua, Riley Chapman, Ashley Costello, Devin Davis, Kaitlin Diskin, Taylor Dorsett, Skyler Gilbert, Martin Glazer, Morgan Granger, Hannah Herbst, Karney Manning, Marcus Moser, Sara Plude, Rebecca Porter, Sarah Porter, Alyssa Rodriguez, Samantha Sommerville, Katherine Towne, Laura West, Sarah West and Anita Zhang.

A highlight of the evening was a performance by the "No Names." The group featured teachers Andre Gordon, Wayne Chagnon and Mike Edson.
