Willsboro 4/4/09

A big welcome home to Joyce Blanchard! after several months in the CVPH hospital she has now returned to her home. We wish her the best of health in the days ahead. Alan & Ada Hutchins are proud to welcome into their family some new additions. Twin babies Jack & Kody Provost born to the parents of Kevin & Liz Provost; and another addition baby D.W.B. the 3rd "Tre" to the parents of Victoria & David Provost. These babies are blessed with grandparents Melissa & Ernie Hilliker, great grandparents Ada & Alan Hutchins, and great-great-grandmother Ada Sharrow. These babies are blessed.

I received word that for the past eleven weeks, thirty-three faculty members at Willsboro Central have been involved in a school wide weight loss competition similar to "The Biggest Loser" and have had great success. As the competition concluded this past week, the group lost a total of 279 pounds. Supt. Broadwell states "on behalf of the school district, we would like to congratulate all the participants."

So many of our weekly delivery persons are taken for granted, but there are companies that do show their appreciation for a job well done, one such company is the Hood Milk Delivery Company. Each year they award a driver of the year, this year it went to one who delivers in our area, Hugh Drollette, thanks for all your hard work on our behalf.

Community events to be aware of include the firemen's car wash on the weekends and the United Methodist Church Apple Pie sale; all orders must be in this week. The next movie to show on Sat. April 4 will be "Slumdog Millionaire" an award winning movie being shown right here in our local town. There are also many Church Lenten special services.

The passing of Ed Provost will leave a very familiar local site of seeing him travel around the community on his bicycle, and doing many odd jobs. Sympathy is extended to his family.

Some special birthdays this past week included Richard Sayward who turned 90, and Patty James on 3/29 was treated to a nice celebration, and Ella Mero 4/4 at the Senior Center.

Happy Birthday: Carson Sayward 4/2, Brian Whalen 4/7, Bettie Lawrence 4/8, Nina McNamara 4/9, Paula Calkins 4/11, Dan Belzile 4/11, Kaili Bourdeau 4/11.
