Warrensburg's historical show-and-tell set

WARRENSBURG The popular annual Artifacts Social sponsored by the Warrensburgh Historical Society will take place Sun. Sept. 28 beginning at 4 p.m. Open to all, the event will be held at the Warrensburg Senior Center, on Main Street. Handicap parking and ramp access is off Elm Street. Everyone is invited to bring something historical to show, which may include old photographs or postcards, books, household objects or tools. Among the most popular events of the Society, The Artifacts Social offers an opportunity to reminisce about Warrensburgs past, Society officials said. Prior years events brought out log-marking hammers, apothecary bottles, advertising thermometers, Hickory Ski Center memorabilia, trolley schedules, family diaries, photos and newspaper clippings. The Warrensburgh Historical Society is currently reorganizing the Warrensburgh Museum of Local History. It also publishes a Quarterly newsletter and hosts several programs of historic interest throughout the year. For more information or a recent copy of the Societys Quarterly contact the Society at P. O. Box 441, Warrensburg, NY 12885, or at whs7396@yahoo.com or call Rita Ferraro at 623-2213.
