NYSDOT to meet about Rouses Point border crossing

ROUSES POINT The New York State Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting focusing on proposed infrastructure improvements at the Rouses Point border crossing. The meeting will be held at the Rouses Point Civic Center, 139 Lake St., this Thursday, Oct. 9, from 5-6:30 p.m. The proposed project begins at U.S. Route 2 and continues along U.S. Route 11 to the Canada border. The project will improve approximately 0.8 miles of highway in the town of Champlain and will address mobility and safety issues at the U.S. Customs plaza. Preliminary plans will be available for public review from 5-5:30 p.m. the night of the meeting. An overview of the project will be presented at 5:30 p.m., after which interested persons will have an opportunity to ask department representatives questions on an individual basis. People are encouraged to ask questions and make comments. All written comments will be collected at the meeting or may be mailed to this office to become part of the record.
