Contractor busted

WARRENSBURG - Last week, state Police arrested Scott H. Thomas, 48, of Thurman Road, on four felony counts of third-degree Grand Larceny.

Thomas, the president of Journeyman Builders of Clifton Park, is accused of failing to pay four subcontractors during the construction of a $1.1 million home in the town of Clifton Park. The subcontractors' repeated attempts to secure payment from Thomas were unsuccessful, police said.

The homeowner told state Police that they had paid Thomas for the home's construction, but he had failed to forward the money to subcontractors.

Several liens had been filed against their property, the homeowners told investigators. The liens that were filed reflected the failure to pay the subcontractors a total of $40,100.

Thomas was arraigned before Clifton Park Town Justice James Hughes and was released on $20,000 bond.
