National scholarship comes to Ti

TICONDEROGA AXAAdvisors, the retail distribution subsidiaryof AXA Financial, has announced the formation of a Dollars For Scholars chapter in Ticonderoga. In recognition and support of this decision, AXA Financial is providing the Ticonderoga Alumni Association with a $2,000 grant. Dollars for Scholars, a division of Scholarship America, has a national network of more than 1,200 grassroots scholarship foundations in 42 states and the District of Columbia. These chapters raise funds to support local students. In 2006, Dollars for Scholars chapters raised more that $67 million and provided financial assistance to more that 38,000 students. Scholarship America is the nations largest nonprofit, private-sector scholarship and educational support organization in the country. It has distributed nearly $2 billion to over one million students since 1958. The Ticonderoga Alumni Association appreciates the recognitionand support from AXA and Dollars for Scholars, said Sally Hayes, vice president of the Ticonderoga Alumni Association. We look forward to this association with Dollars for Scholarsandthe resources it will provide to expand and enhance the scholarships awarded to our high school students.
