Adirondack Carousel continues to forge ahead, otter unveiling slated for Oct. 11

SARANAC LAKE While most Saranac Lake residents are gearing up for a long winter, The Adirondack Carousel team is keeping the momentum up from the summer. Carousel founder Karen Loffler and Carl Borst a longtime Carousel friend co-carved the River Otter, the mascot of the Carousel for five years. The official Otter unveiling and carver/painter reception will take place at the Wild Center in Tupper Lake Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. $2 off admission to the Wild Center will be given to those attending the unveiling. We are thrilled to have lucky number 13 out of 23 animals ready to be delivered, said Dylan Rodrigues, Carousel executive director. I encourage everyone to come out to the Wild Center to meet Carousel founder, Karen Loffler, and not only to view the finished product but learn about otters as well. This summer brought seven new additions to the Adirondack Carousel, many of which are now infiltrating Saranac Lake, Lake Placid, Canton, Watertown, and AuSable Forks (exact locations follow). The Adirondack Carousel project has been in the works for the past few years. Volunteer carvers locally and from around the nation have generously donated their time and hard work to deliver the final Carousel figures.
