Wheeler to perform at Bluseed Studios Sept. 20

SARANAC LAKE On Saturday, Sept. 20, the audience at Bluseed Studios will experience a Good Summer Rain. But, dont worry, you wont need to pack an umbrella. Singer-songwriter Erica Wheeler will bring her authentic style of contemporary folk music to Bluseed as part of the Saturday Night Scene series. Her new album, Good Summer Rain, has been applauded by critics, who have called it insightful, imaginative and artfully creative. Wheeler, a native of western Massachusetts, is an award-winning songwriter who was written and produced five critically acclaimed albums. She was featured on both National Public Radio and WXPN, and her album The Harvest remained in the top ten on Billboards Gavin Americana Chart an entire month. Rain was produced by Crit Harmon who has worked with Martin Sexton, Mary Gauthier and Lori McKenna and features a sound that is rich and textural, as it fuses the sounds of dobro, mandolin, upright bass and piano. Wheelers lyrics focus heavily on the environment that surrounds us, and are often intimate and spiritual, connecting with the listener through her conversational vocal style. The new album, released Summer 2008, was sponsored by the The Trust for Public Land, a nonprofit organization that works to conserve land through the protection of landscapes in inner cities and in wilderness areas. In addition to her music, Wheeler offers writing workshops designed to foster a connection between people and places. For more information, visit www.ericawheeler.com
