Carris gift will help homeless animals

RUTLAND The Rutland County Humane Society announce that it has received a donation from the Rutland-based Carris Foundation in the amount of $9,500. The gift will help the society to care for over 1,400 animals that will come into its shelter in the coming year. The Carris Foundation gift is especially generous and touching because it is sponsored by many individual employees at the Carris Corporation. We feel honored that they chose to support our work in our community, said Gretchen Goodman, the societys executive director. Founded in 1959, for 50 years the Rutland County Humane Society has been dedicated to advocating for and working towards a responsible and humane community.
