Local apples, fiddle music at farmers market

RICHMONDOn Sept. 26, Richmond residents will enjoy fun fiddle music with Karen and Pete Sutherland at the Richmond Farmers' Market on the Volunteers Green, 5-6 p.m. The Sutherlands are returning due to popular demand and this will be their sixth year of sharing their living folk tradition at the market. The Sutherlands link the endless chain of people making music that breathes and dances in their own rhythm. The music communicates the timeless stories of their art form. Northeast Organic Farming Association is sponsoring this event. Sept. 26 is also Apple Day at the market. Experience the fresh taste of the local 2008 apple crop. Help grind and press apples on a hand operated cider press. Have a cup of fresh cider at the Market and take some home for later. The market is open 3-6:30p.m. on the green.
