Stolen car and DWI arrest

JOHNSBURG On September 11, at 10:33 p.m., one subject was taken into custody after officers from the Warren County Sheriffs Office responded to a motor vehicle accident on Peaceful Valley Road in Johnsburg. Arrested was Reed S. Jahnke, 38, of Effingham, NH. Jahnke was operating a 2005 Nissan Altima southbound on Peaceful Valley Road near the intersection with State Route 8, when he failed to negotiate a curve and struck a utility pole causing the vehicle to roll over. During the course of the accident investigation it was determined that the vehicle was reported stolen in Tamworth, NH. Jahnke was taken into custody after being released from Glens Falls Hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained during the accident. Jahnke was charged with Criminal Possession Stolen Property 3rd, a felony, and misdemeanor Driving While Intoxicated. Jahnke could face additional DWAI drug charges pending the results of a blood test. An arrest warrant is also expected from the Tamworth, NH Police Department, which may result in Jahnke being further charged as a Fugitive from Justice. Mr. Jahnke is being held at the Warren County Correctional Facility awaiting arraignment in Johnsburg Town Court. The arrests were handled by Patrol Officer William Backus and Investigator Ed Affinito.
