New private school opens its doors

VERGENNES On Sept. 2, Champlain Valley Christian School opened the 2008-09 academic year at its brand new facility located in Vergennes. Rev. Tom Albaugh, pastor of the Champlain Valley Christian Reformed Church, and Ted Boelens, chairman of the school's Building Committee, led the opening festivities. After Boelens cut the ceremonial ribbon held by kindergartener, Rebecca DeVries (Class of 2021) and senior Ryan Brands (Class of 2009), students were welcomed into their new classrooms and participated in a kick-off assembly. A formal dedication of the facility for the school family and surrounding communities will be held in October.
