Redcoats and rebels at Mt. Independence

ORWELL Banastre "Ban" Tarleton, the most hated British soldier in the American Revolution, will be daring to show his face Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Mount Independence State Historic Site in Orwell when English actor-playwright Howard Burnham brings him to life in his one-man costumed performance at 7 p.m. Tarleton fought against the rebels in the American south. He was the model of an English officer portrayed in the popular Mel Gibson film The Patriot
