Local woman seriously injured in auto accident

JOHNSBURG On the morning of Sept. 4, the Warren County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a motor vehicle accident on the South Johnsburg Road in the Town of Johnsburg. Seriously injured was Julie L. Wolfe, age 25, of South Johnsburg Road in Johnsburg. The crash occurred when Wolfes 2000 Ford Focus was entering the South Johnsburg Road from a private driveway. The vehicle was attempting to make a left hand turn to go north on South Johnsburg Road when it entered the highway and was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The oncoming vehicle, a 2001 F-550 was being operated southbound on South Johnsburg Road. The vehicle is owned by the Warren County DPW. The operator of the 2001 F-550 attempted to avoid the collision but struck the 2000 Ford Focus in the driver side in the south bound lane. Wolfes vehicle was then pushed into the northbound lane of travel. The 2001 F-550 continued off of the east side of the highway and into a ditch before coming to rest. No one in the F-550 was injured in the crash. Wolfe was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital by members of the Johnsburg Emergency Squad. Assisting at the scene were members of the Johnsburg Fire Department. Wolfe was ticketed for Failure to Yield the Right of Way entering a highway and for failing to wear a seatbelt. The crash is being investigated by members of the Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit and members of the Criminal Investigative Unit. No further tickets or charges are expected.
