Die Schlauberger will make its yearly trek to Whiteface and perform under the entertainment tent outside the base lodge. Also performing will be the Lake Placid Bavarians and Ed Schenk on the accordion. The Schwarzenegger Connection is making its second Oktoberfest appearance. The Cloudspin Lounge will feature Schachtelgebirger Musikanten (Scha-Musi). New this year is OK Live, direct from Germany. The celebration of fall continues with the 8th annual Flaming Leaves Festival Oct. 11-12, featuring the 2009 U.S. Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Championships. This annual two-day event has something for everyone in the family - from watching the best ski jumpers in North America compete, to live blues bands, to tempting barbeque and great brews, inflatables, games, craft vendors and more all with unparalleled views of the Adirondacks and the peak fall foliage. Take a chair lift or elevator ride to the top of the famed 120 meter ski jump for some of the best views in the Adirondacks during the change of colors. This event promises to bring the fall season to an exciting conclusion. The Flaming Leaves festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. Admission is $14 for adults, and $8 for juniors/seniors and includes the chairlift and elevator ride to the Sky Deck atop the 120 meter ski jump tower.
