Newcomb VIC to host Quilt Show

NEWCOMB The Adirondack Park Agency Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC) at Newcomb will host the 4th Biennial Newcomb Quilt Show on Sept. 5-7 as part of the annual Teddy Roosevelt Days. The quilt show will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the weekend and will feature more than 100 quilts of various styles, colors and sizes, many of which will be for sale. Made by members of Newcombs Mountain Quilters, these quilts exhibit traditional and modern quilt patterns. Several antique quilts will also be on display courtesy of residents of the town of Newcomb. Visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite quilts, help choose the winner of the annual Challenge Block Contest, and enter to win one of our fabulous door prizes, said Newcomb VIC Center director Rynda McCray. A reception for the quilt show will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 at the Newcomb VIC. Adirondack folk singer/songwriter Peggy Lynn will provide entertainment starting at 7 p.m. The quilt show and reception are free and open to the public.
