Mt. Saint Joseph school news

RUTLAND Back-to-School Night is Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. This is an evening when parents and guardians walk through their sons or daughters schedule and receive course details from teachers. Back-to-School Night ends at 8:30 p.m. Athletics: The football team has been on a regular summer schedule of conditioning. Stop by the softball field to offer encouragement to the football team members and the coaches. Besides football, some of the other sports offered this year include cross country, girls and boys soccer, girls and boys hockey, softball, baseball, track, girls and boys basketball, and golf. Encourage your son/daughter to try out for an MSJ team. Remember that it is primarily through participation in MSJ athletics that the physical education credit is earned. International Students: MSJ has accepted and found housing for ten international students from China, Korea and Thailand. Additional homes are needed for one boy from China, one girl from Korea, one girl from Spain and five boys from Finland and Sweden. Stipends of $450/month are provided to families who host students from all countries, except Finland and Sweden. If you are interested in helping MSJ and an international student with housing, please contact Mrs. Reynolds at admissions@msjvermont.org or 775-0151, extension 108. Parents Group: Are you willing to lead the MSJ Parents and Friends Club? Principal Paolo E. Zancanaro needs your assistance in resurrecting this organization. Please contact him at: principal@msjvermont.org. Books/Schedules: Purchase books on-line at the link provided on the MSJ web site. Use the student I.D. number as noted on the top of the course schedule. Calendar and Web Site: The school calendar is posted on the web site. Please check the calendar and web site for relevant information.
