JHS introduces new book

NORTH CREEK The Johnsburg Historical Society will officially introduce Glenn Pearsall's new book, "Echoes in These Mountains: Historic Sites and Stories Disappearing in Johnsburg, an Adirondack Community" on Sunday, September 14 at 4 p.m. in Tannery Pond Community Center, North Creek. The event will highlight a PowerPoint presentation on the book as well as book signing by the author followed by a reception and refreshments. Mr. Pearsall has just completed 3 years of research and investigation of over fifty historic sites in the Township of Johnsburg, many of which are disappearing. This investigation resulted in the book, just published by Pyramid Press. Well known author Bill McKibben says of Mr. Pearsall's book: "Johnsburg is the quintessential Adirondack town, and this book tells its story far better than any previous work. It will remind residents of all that's taken place here over the years - and it will help visitors understand how history has shaped this place, and how it is still evolving." The event is open to the public and no admission will be charged.
