Ti scouts busy

TICONDEROGA The Ticonderoga Area Girl Scouts have gotten off to a busy start this fall. In September the area girls were out in full force selling magazine subscriptions\Nuts and candy. This is one of two of their product sales they conduct during the year. The money raised at the local level goes to help pay for area events and programs for the girls. The area Girl Scouts had their annual area picnic at the First United Methodist Church Oct. 3. Approximately 20 area girls, their leaders and families attended. Everyone who attended had to opportunity to work on a craft and to play a few games. About 30 area girls got together once again for a Halloween Party Oct. 24 and to celebrate Juliette Gordon Lows Birthday. The evening featured a costume contest and games followed by some snacks. The costume contest winners included: cutest Toby Bishop and Olivia Powers; scariest Carl and Tori Fluery; most original AJ Borho and Laura and Sarah West; and funniest Victoria Sawyer and Shania Norton. The Area Girl Scouts would like to take this opportunity to thank the following for their help and support, said Debbie Barber, Girl Scout Service Unit Manager. First to the Methodist Church for allowing us to hold both of these events there. Second to Bill Westervelt for agreeing to be our fantastic chef and finally to the Ticonderoga community for your support and generosity. Without your support we would not be able to hold these events and program for the girls.
