Pataki supports Treadwell

To the editor: The North Country will always hold a special place in my heart. For twelve years I was proud to serve as your Governor and during my administration it was one of my highest priorities to set initiatives that were aimed at improving the quality of life and expanding job opportunities throughout the Adirondack region. If it was not for Sandy Treadwell helping me along the way, I truly believe that our achievements, working with the people and communities to help the Park economy grow would not have been possible. For six years Sandy served as my Secretary of State. He worked vigorously and diligently to identify problems here in the North Country, and all across the state, then he created opportunities for people and business to solve them. Sandys commitment brought tens of millions of dollars to environmental protection and improvement to communities in every corner of the state through the Quality Communities and Waterfront Rediscovery programs. He worked tirelessly with fire departments, small businesses and local governments to make their jobs a little easier. And over the past years, Sandy has continued his leadership in private life heading up an effort to bring the Olympics back to Lake Placid and the region As a public servant, with a proven record of leadership, there is no one better. As a friend and confidant, there is no one who has earned my trust more. As a husband and father, there is no one more dedicated and loving. Sandy encompasses all that is necessary to serve you well in Congress and will do so with the strengths and values that people throughout the North County share. Sandy Treadwell calls the Adirondacks home for a reason. That reason is all of you. I strongly urge you to support my friend and your friend Sandy Treadwell. George E. Pataki
