Mater Christi Students help the hungry

BURLINGTON Given the current financial climate, the Mater Christi school community decided to be part of the solution by holding a food drive for the Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf during the month of October. Sixth graders brought in cereal, grade seven was assigned tuna fish, the eighth graders donated canned soup and the faculty and staff brought in peanut butter. The Cub Scouts, accompanied by their Pack leaders, transported the food to the Food Shelf by piling it into wagons, forming a parade and walking the route to the Food Shelf, approximately a mile from Mater Christi School. Several hundred pounds of food were thus delivered by very excited and eager Cub Scouts.
