Local water restrictions lifted

COLCHESTER Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department officials announced recently that recreational water use restrictions associated with sea lamprey control activities have been lifted for the Winooski River downstream of the Route 127 Bridge and the surrounding Lake Champlain shoreline. This includes the lakeshore from Lone Rock Point in Burlington north to a point on the Colchester railroad fill four miles north of the river mouth. Household and agricultural water use restrictions remain in effect until further notice in this area. Water use restrictions on the Winooski River upstream of the Route 127 Bridge to the Salmon Hole between Burlington and Winooski were lifted after the river was treated with the lampricide TFM
