Treadwell's roots are in Essex County

To the editor: It is exciting that for the first time since the Civil War we can elect a person from Essex County to represent us in the Congress. Sandy Treadwell, who makes Lake Placid his home, is running for the congressional seat now held by his opponent Kristen Gillibrand who resides from way down in Columbia County. I think Sandy Treadwell is the most qualified person to represent the 20th Congressional district. It would be comforting to know that someone who has roots in Essex County and who has been active in the community here would represent us in our National Capital. Mr. Treadwell certainly has the experience. He served for six years as our State's Secretary of State; he has chaired our States Republican Party and was elected to represent the Empire State as a National Committee Member to the Republican National Committee. Sandy Treadwell also has extensive involvement with a number of community organizations in the North Country which, among other things, are dedicated to protecting open space, farmlands and forests, as well as other lands contributing to the quality of like of Adirondack residents. I know Sandy Treadwell would make an excellent choice for our Congressman and would fight for best interest of people who call the North Country their home. With best regards, Joyce W.
