Ti teachers attend state conference

TICONDEROGA Ticonderoga High School language teachers Kari Millard, Kirsten Decker and Lynne Lenhart attended the 91st annual meeting of the New York State Association of Foreign Languages Teachers held recently at the Saratoga Hilton and Saratoga Springs City Center in Saratoga Springs. This years theme was Teaching languages in a Changing World: Rethinking Literacies and Learners. Robert D. Peckham, Ph.D., professor of French at the University of Tennessee at Martin, was the keynote speaker. More than 500 language professionals attended over 100 workshops focusing on topics such as the state standards, New York State assessments, methods and techniques, using music and film in the classroom, classroom management strategies, and technology in the classroom. Some workshops were offered in French, Spanish, German, Chinese and Italian. There were also a variety of swap shops, cultural updates, panel discussions and exhibitor showcases.
