A big thank you from Life Flight

To the editor: North Countrys Life Flight annual PumpkinFest, held at Mt. Pisgah in Saranac Lake Saturday, Oct. 11 was a tremendous success and filled with families having fun while enjoying games, hayrides, the Great Pumpkin Hay Maze, the ever popular CakeWalk, food, pumpkin decorating, music and more. The weather smiled on us too, giving us one of the finest fall days of the year for this great community event. North Country Life Flight could not celebrate PumpkinFest without the assistance of many community volunteers and the generous support of area businesses. We extend our thanks to students and educators at Lake Placid and Saranac Lake High School, the North Country Life Flight medical and ground team volunteers and their families as well as area businesses who donated food and supplies for our concession, auction items, pumpkins, baked cakes for our CakeWalk, loaned tents and supplies. We thank those in attendance for their generous auction bids, donations and support of our many venues. Dollars raised at PumpkinFest help fund North Country Life Flight's air medical rescue mission. PumpkinFest attendees were able to meet the pilot and medical crew and tour the New York State Police helicopter in the morning; later the helicopter and crew left for a MEDEVAC to regional hospitals. Our focus for this years PumpkinFest was safety and we thank staff from National Grid, New York State Police and Forest Rangers and New York Child Health Plus for attending and providing families with free Safe Child IDs, electrical and hiking safety information. If you missed PumpkinFest and would like to contribute to North Country Life Flights mission, checks can be mailed to North Country Life Flight, P.O. Box 994, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.
