NCCC presidential candidates to visit Ti

TICONDEROGA The four finalists to become the next president of North Country Community College will each visit Ticonderoga. Dr. Maurice Moe Hickey attended a community forum at the NCCC Ti campus Oct. 23. Dr. Lawrence Spraggs will be in Ti Oct. 30, Dr. John Ganio will visit Ti Nov. 6 and Dr. John Fallon III will be in Ticonderoga Nov. 13. Each forum will be 2:45-3:15 in the NCCC Ti campus board room. North Country Community College invites members of the community to participate in a Community Open Forum with each of the four finalists for the presidency of the college, said Edwin A Trathen, vice president for enrollment & student services/assistant to the president. The Community Open Forums will open with brief remarks by each of the finalists followed by an opportunity for questions from community members during an informal meet and greet session, Trathen said. The four finalists will also attend forums at the NCCC campuses in Saranac Lake and Malone. Fallon is a senior fellow with the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and former president of the State University of New York at Potsdam Ganio is acting dean of academic affairs at Ulster Community College and former assistant provost of the State University of New York. Hickey is former president of Clinton Community College. Spraggs is a higher education consultant and former president of Broome Community College. Each candidate will meet with members of the NCCC Board of Trustees, presidential search committee, students, faculty and staff, and community members. Selection by the board of trustees of a new president for North Country Community College is anticipated to be completed by early December, with final SUNY Board of Trustees approval slated for January of 2009. North Country Community Colleges new president will assume office on June 1, 2009.
