Library seeks new trustees

CHESTERTOWN The Town of Chester library is seeking volunteers to fill several vacancies on the library board. Trustees attend meetings on the third Thursday of the month and oversee the operation of the library. Members also work on special projects such as the endowment fund and the oral history collection. Last month, the endowment committee held a successful fundraiser in Pottersville at the home of Barbara and Clarke Dunham, which featured a tour of the model train displays at Dunham Studios. A similar event will be held next summer, to which the entire community is invited. Also in August, the oral history committee received a grant from the Gore Mountain Region Community Fund to support the posting of interviews with local residents on the library website and enable public access to the oral history collection. Those interested in joining the Town of Chester library board, are asked to contact Kathleen Roberts, president, 494-7569. Trustees must be residents of the Town of Chester.
