As it used to be returning to News Enterprise

JOHNSBURG Among the many artifacts and records of the Town of Johnsburg maintained at the Johnsburg Historical Society (JHS), one of the most valued is William Waddells collection of articles As It Used To Be. These were published in the North Creek News Enterprise in the early 1970s. For those who have come to this area since then, the articles were mostly about buildings or sites in North Creek. JHS is continuing research on these sites and others in the Town of Johnsburg, as well as some nearby. We hope to publish the results of our investigations in the News Enterprise periodically under the title, As It Used To Be As It Is Now and More. We are continuing this interest in the history of our community that has been aroused by Glenn Pearsalls recently published book, Echoes in These Mountains. Several people have already agreed to research specific sites and add those to our collection. We welcome input from anyone interested in this project. Please contact Sally Heidrich at 251-2733. The culmination of our research will comprise an exhibit by JHS at Tannery Pond Community Center in September, 2009.
