Update on Route 116 roadwork

ST. GEORGE Crews began paving on Route 116/Hinesburg Road Oct. 14 at Kennedy Drive then proceeding south. For the remainder of this week, which may include Saturday, and all of next week, paving will occur along Route 116 south of Kennedy Drive to St. George. Paving in and around Kennedy Drive on Route 116 will cause traffic delays for at least 20 minutes. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly and allow extra time to get through the paving operation. Pike Industries will continue road improvement work on Route 116 in the St. George-South Burlington corridor as follows: Crews will work on ditching, shoulder widening and clean-up between Kennedy Drive and Rocky Ridge Golf Course. Installation of new handicap sidewalk ramps and structure adjustments will take place all week from Williston Road to Kennedy Drive. Travel will be reduced to one lane travel in and around work zones. Motorists can expect lengthy traffic delays during daytime work. The above anticipated work plan is subject to change due to the contractors schedule and weather conditions. Saturday work may be necessary to remain on schedule.
