Historical group's 2009 calendar now available

WARRENSBURG The Warrensburgh Historical Societys 2009 calendar is now on sale at local establishments. This years calendar follows a theme of Sports and Recreation,featuring historic photographs, along with brief descriptions. Early photographs of boys and girls athletics at Warrensburgs school, several with Coach George Khoury, the Maplewoods baseball team, several bands and a rifle team are included, plus images of the old fairgrounds, Music Hall block, bowling alleys, Cronins Golf Course and Hickory Hill. Priced at $8, the calendar is available at: Jacobs and Toney Market, Nemecs Farm & Garden, the Warrensburg branch of Glens Falls National Bank, The Richards Library and Cronins Gold Course. Members of the Society have already received a copy, which is included in the price of membership. The Warrensburgh Historical Society currently has about 180 paid members and welcomes all who have an interest in local history. In addition to the calendar it publishes a quarterly newsletter, conducts the annual Historic Graveyard Walks and hosts several programs of historic interest throughout the year.
