Christmas gift program under way

To the Times of Ti: In 2005, David Sporty Beale of Minerva and I started a motorcycle ride in which all motorcycles are welcome to ride. You must bring a new unwrapped toy of at least a $10 value to participate in the ride or pay $10 a person. We also encourage all vehicles to come along and ride with us, but they also have to bring a new unwrapped toy or pay $10 a person to participate. Last year, we were very successful we raised enough money to give 270 under-privileged school-aged children a very special Christmas. The school districts involved are as follows: Schroon Lake, Minerva, Newcomb, Elizabethtown, Keene and Lake Placid. Toys handed out included dolls, mountain bikes, and more and some children in need received winter clothes. Our goal is eventually to be able to provide for all of the under-privileged school-aged children within the schools of Essex County. With more open hearts and generous donations, hopefully we can take on one more school district this year. All donations are deposited in our Essex County Toys For Kids account at Glens Falls National Bank, Schroon Lake, and is tax deductible. We are a registered non-profit incorporation and you may mail your donation to either Carl Russell, 2988 US Route 9, North Hudson, 12855 or to David Beale, PO Box 903, Minerva 12851. Checks should be made payable to Essex County Toys For Kids. Any questions pertaining to this matter may be directed to Carl at 532-9241 or to David at 251-5260. Thank you. Carl Russell, Essex County Toys For Kids, North Hudson
