Enjoying the diversity of color in our region

To the editor: Mother Nature calls us to appreciate especially the Now! But beyond the colorful leaves soon to fall, we continue to be surrounded by tireless neighbors and friends, and have a journalist that speaks to us not just seasonally, but with dedication to the past and confidence in the future of our home town. My appreciation continues to grow of Brett Hagadorns objective and thorough coverage of events in our communities. A deeper understanding of the richness of our local heritage increases for young and not so young with each article like the one written by Johnsburg Historical Society member, Kathy Maiorana, Sept. 27, detailing the interesting Johnson/Stevens quilt voyage. Glenn Pearsalls presentation and introduction of his book Echoes in These Mountains will continue for many, many years to connect the readers to our settlers sacrificially shaping the Town of Johnsburg and hopefully will inspire many to become part of the ongoing efforts of Johnsburg Historical Society to preserve and collect otherwise fleeting memories. Sincere thanks to all, who are giving precious personal time, to numerous selflessly working hands and minds, who help us hold on to the beautiful COLOR of our diverse local backgrounds in the tapestry of our history in the Town of Johnsburg.
