Castleton-to-Benson run to help seniors

CASTLETON As the colder weather approaches, groups like the Lakes Region Independent Ryders are finding ways to help others facing a potentially hard winter. On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Ryders will host the Help for Heat Poker Run to raise money to help the elderly in our communities with their heating costs. The cost is only $10 per bike and $5 per passenger. They will leave from Fat Toms Auto Repair in Castleton and end at the Wheel Inn in Benson. Sign-in is from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Additional donations will be greatly appreciated. All proceeds will go into a special fund at BROC-Community Action in Southwestern Vermont to be administered to help the elderly population. For more information, please contact Tom Wiese at 802-468-5877 or Bill Wyman at 468-5765. Come for a foliage ride and Help for Heat.
