MIDDLEBURY On Friday, Oct. 3 at 4 p.m. the Henry Sheldon Museum presents a talk by quilter Alexandra Nickerson. Her quilt, titled East-West Fusion II, is on view for the month of October at the Sheldon. The quilt is the second in a series of three quilts using contemporary fabrics with Asian patterns and a raw-edge broderie perse technique to spill the motifs onto the sashing and borders of the quilt. It has won several ribbons, including viewers choice at the 2006 Vermont Quilt Festival, and was featured in the May 2007 issue of Quilters Newsletter magazine. The quilt was exhibited at the Shelburne Museum in the 2007 Contemporary Vermont Quilts exhibit and will be hung in a broderie perse exhibit at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY in 2010.
