Scheu is new ACEDC director

MIDDLEBURY The Addison County Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors announced the appointment of Robin P. Scheu as its new executive director. Scheu replaces James B. Jamie Stewart. Scheu brings nearly 30 years of business experience in both large and small organizations, in the corporate, nonprofit, and municipal sectors. She was a commercial lender and senior manager at Bank of Boston and Bank of Vermont for fifteen years, and has run her own consulting business for the past several years. Locally, Scheu ran the Addison County Solid Waste Management District, the Middlebury Area Land Trust, and was treasurer of the Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op. She also chaired the Mary Hogan School Board and was a member of the Addison Central Supervisory Union Board. She has also been on several statewide boards, including the Vermont Land Trust and Smart Growth Vermont. Scheu said she plans to be both visible and proactive in the community. Over the coming months she will be meeting with business owners, local and state officials, legislators, and other partners to hear from them about their hopes, needs, concerns, and opportunities for the future of business in Addison County. My job is to listen, to be a facilitator, and to connect businesses with organizations and agencies in order to strengthen employment opportunities and help new and existing businesses succeed. Addison County is a great place to live and do business and I look forward to assisting in any way I can, she said.
