You vote - animal shelter may win $25,000

MIDDLEBURY - From now until Dec. 14, the Internet-based Animal Rescue Site (www.theanimalrescuesite.com) is giving away $100,000 in grants to participating Petfinder member shelter and rescue groups.

The Addison County Humane Society is encouraging friends to click to help rescued animals on The Animal Rescue Site, and then to vote every day for their favorite participating rescue organization in the $100,000 "Shelter+ Challenge".

Clicking and voting is free for site visitors, but the right number of votes can mean as much as $25,000 for the winning shelter. Weekly prizes of $1,000 are also available.

The Addison County Humane Society serves Addison County by taking in stray and homeless animals, providing temporary shelter and care, and placing these animals into lifelong, loving homes. The local shelter is a a "no-kill" shelter, meaning it does not euthanize animals for space, and ensure every adoptable animal a permanent home.

Vote tallies will be updated regularly, and visitors to The Animal Rescue Site (www.theanimalrescuesite.com) can check on their favorite shelter's tallies throughout the Challenge
