Researcher receives USAF award

BURLINGTON Dr. Christian Skalka, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Vermont, joins world class researchers from Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Brown, and Chicago who have received a 2008 Air Force Young Investigator Research Program (YIP) Award. Skalka received a three-year grant for $284,000 for his research proposal entitled, "A Language Based Approach to Wireless Sensor Network Security", from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Air Force Office of Scientific Research's Young Investigator Program. This is truly an honor, said Skalka. This grant will allow me to advance my research in wireless sensor networks and make a solid contribution towards ongoing research efforts and graduate education at UVM.
