Local mill worker injured May 21

WARRENSBURG A lumber mill worker here was injured May 21 when his leg became caught in a conveyor belt at his work station, police said. Eric D. Palmer of Queensbury was on the job just not long before 9 a.m. at TD Becraft Lumber Mill on Sweet Rd. when the incident occurred, according to the Warren County Sheriffs Dept. He was working machinery that pulls lumber to him on a conveyor belt, where he would sort the wood by quality and send it down a lower conveyor belt in which he caught his leg, police said. Palmer was treated at the scene and then taken to Glens Falls Hospital by members of the Warrensburg Emergency Squad. The hospital listed him in good condition later on that day.
