STONY CREEK Next weekend, Amelia Kellys life will change dramatically. For 23 years, Amelia Kelly has been driving to Queensbury, reporting to work full-time for Warren County, as well as holding a part-time administrative job for Hudson Headwaters Health Network. May 6, she will have officially retired after 23 years working for the county government. At a recent meeting, Warren County supervisors paid Kelly a tribute. They surprised her with a standing ovation for her work for the municipality, primarily as Records Specialist for Westmount Health Facility. She spent about 21 years there, after initially working two years in the countys Real Property Services department. County Administrator Hal Payne said Kelly worked long hours and was exacting in her work at Westmount. He was administrator at Westmount for nine years, and oversaw Kellys work during that time. kelly was in charge of payroll and tabulating employee hours, as well as third-party payments for services, such as Medicare reimbursements. She was like a mother to employees, Payne said. She was extremely diligent, getting others paperwork done, always making sure they did what they were supposed to do. Payne said he was impressed by Kellys work ethic. And whats incredible is, she worked two jobs. Her other job is as a receptionist at the Warrensburg Health Center part-time evenings and Sundays. In June, she will have tallied 10 years in this latter post.
