Thank you to volunteers from Elizabethtown and Lewis

To the editor: The residents of the towns of Elizabethtown and Lewis have so much to be proud of. Leslie Fleury of Lewis, a reservist with the Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 27 was able to arrange to bring a group of Seabees from this outfit to work on the interior of the new ambulance hall on April 26 and 27. Not only were the Naval personnel present, but many volunteers from the rescue squad and both communities were involved as well. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the businesses and residents that provided food and or volunteered to cook. It reflects so well on the leadership of the Ambulance Squad. I would also like to thank the Lewis Fire Department for allowing the use of their building to billet and cook for the Seabees. Once again the men and women of our military have come to our assistance. I am so proud of our military and have a deep respect for the role they play. They are the unsung heroes that do so much, but receive little appreciation. The towns of Elizabethtown and Lewis have much to be thankful for. Thanks to all for your part in the work done at the new hall. David Blades, Lewis Town Supervisor
