Essex Fund accepting grant applications

ESSEX The Essex Community Fund seeks grant applications from local non-profit organizations. Applications are currently available at the Essex Town Hall, on the Web site of the Adirondack Community Trust under the community funds link, www.GenerousACT.org or PO Box 101, Essex, NY 12936. The Essex Community Fund will accept applications until June 6, and it will award grants in late June. The Essex Community Fund, established by a group of local and seasonal residents, is a component of the Adirondack Community Trust. It is a permanent charitable fund to assist nonprofits and other community organizations to support local needs and opportunities and improve the quality of life in the Town of Essex. The Fund makes annual grants in such areas as Culture and the Arts, Education, Environment and Community Beautification, Historic Preservation and Programs for Youth and Senior Citizens. The amount of grant funding available is annually determined by the income generated by the Funds principal. As the Fund continues to grow and generate greater income, the size of these grants will increase. Since these Essex Community Fund grants result from tax deductible contributions made by people wishing to make a difference in the region, it continues to seek additional contributions. For further information, to request a grant application or to make a contribution contact either Nick Muller at 963-8188 or Cali Brooks, Executive Director of the Adirondack Community Trust at 523-9904.
