Multiple Sclerosis Songs of Hope Coffee Housed planned

SARANAC LAKE Saranac Lake will come alive with great music, great food and great fun Friday, May 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Great Hall. There will be baked goods and refreshments. Multiple Sclerosis Ribbons of Hope and bracelets will also be available for sale. This is an all ages event. Dave Nichols and Spare Change are graciously donating their talent. They are well traveled in the Bluegrass Circles. Their music has been described as not your Daddys Bluegrass. Lowell and George Bailey are well known in the Tri -Lakes for their quality acoustic music. They will play original blues, bluegrass and swing. They shared the stage last year at the Mountain Music Meltdown with Doc Watson and many others. The Waickmans will play swing tunes and ballads from the 1920s artfully arranged for recorders, cello and violin. The Rustic Riders will host the event and play an original tune or two. The Mission Committee and members of the First Presbyterian Church are helping to organize and provide delicious home baked refreshments. The money raised by this event will support the work of the Upstate New York Chapter in providing comprehensive services to upstate families and fund MS research. Funds raised by the chapter have helped to fund research in Saranac Lake at the Trudeau Institute. Riders from the Rustic Riders MS Bike Team will be present to share their experiences. Team members have ranged in age from 15 to 76 years old. This years North Country Ride takes place July 12. There are distances for people of all ages and abilities.
