Lake Placid Olympic Center Skating School student shines at European event

LAKE PLACID Kendall Wyckoff of Panton, Vt., a student at the Olympic Center Skating School in Lake Placid, continued her outstanding season by recently placing second at the Triglav Trophy 2008 in Slovenia. Wyckoff, 15, now attending Lake Placid High School, was fourth in the short program before winning the free skate in the Novice Girls category. That combination was enough to elevate her to second place overall with 107.78 points. Yea-Ji Yoon of Korea was the winner with 108.48 points on the strength of a victory in the short program and runner-up placing to Wyckoff in the free skate. Wyckoffs scores in the free skate and overall were personal bests. A total of 22 competitors were entered in the division. The high school sophomore is coached by Gilberto Viadana and Michela Boschetto of the Olympic Center Skating School, conducted by the Olympic Regional Development Authority.
