Bluegrass band to raise funds for school

SHOREHAM The multi-talented Hibernators bluegrass band, will liven up the stage at the Shoreham Elementary School Friday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. The performance is the third bluegrass concert in the Newton Academy Project 2008 benefit concert series. Well known throughout central and northern Vermont for their choice renditions of old standards and new bluegrass arrangements, the band will play one of their last concerts of the season before going into summer hibernation. Tickets are available at the door at 7 p.m. Admission for adults is $10, ages 18 and under, $5. Proceeds from admissions, refreshment sales and Shoreham merchandise will help fund the repairs on the foundation of the historic 1810 Newton Academy building. The Shoreham Elementary School is located on the north side of the academy building at 130 School Street in Shoreham village.
