SARANAC LAKE Dave Dekkers, Director of Nutritional Services at Adirondack Medical Center, was named an ABCD recipient for the month of April. The program, known as ABCD, stands for Above & Beyond the Call of Duty. The ABCD Award is presented to AMC employees who provide exemplary services or care that is outside of their job requirements and reflects positively on them, their field of practice, community and AMC. In a certificate of appreciation, it was pointed out that Dekkers goes above and beyond the call of duty on a daily basis even though he and his department must often contend with short staffing. In addition to a certificate of appreciation, Dekkers was given a $50 gift certificate. AMC announces ABCD award winners on a monthly basis.
